4 Reasons to Invest in Maternity Photos

Hey y’all, Boone Family Photographer here! I know what you’re thinking, why would I want maternity photos?! I don’t always feel great.  My feet are huge. My back hurts. The last thing I want is to be in front of a camera! Well, I have news for you!!! IT IS WORTH IT! Let me tell you the 4 reasons why you should invest in a maternity session.

 

1. Great photos can last a lifetime, and then some!

Yes, you can always take a few photos on your cell phone, but how often are you impressed with your dimly lit, out of focus selfies? Not too often from my experience.  Look back at those photos that you took on your 2009 flip phone, what do you see? Definitely not a crisp, clean image lol.

Hiring a photographer will ensure that you have amazing quality photos that you can print and share for a lifetime.  Your photographer will give you high resolution images and usually directions on how to print them easily and with the best quality.  One of my favorite things is to look back at old photos of my mom when she was pregnant with my sister and I.  She looked so much like I do now.  I look at her beautiful round belly and big smile and think, what was she thinking at that time? How was she feeling? It really is special to look at those photos and try to put yourself in her shoes.

If you don’t like the way you look/feel, it’s not necessarily about you.  Your child will cherish those photos.  Your grandchildren will laugh at your long flowing mumu but find inspiration in your hair style or your big bright smile.

2. It’s a great reason to dress up and feel radiantly feminine and beautiful

Put on that beautiful, flowing dress.  Rock those tight leather maternity leggings.  Wear whatever makes you feel powerful.  You are about to birth a human being, you need to rock that belly, stand tall and shout it from the mountain top! Need I say more?!

3. Special time with your partner, friend or just yourself

This time is for you.  Your photo session will represent your love for your child.  You can bring along your partner, your friends or anyone you want to support you.  OR rock it by yourself.  You will always have mother nature, your photographer and that sweet baby with you during your photo session! What I mean by special time is, the only thing you will be focused on for that hour is your partner, yourself and that baby.  No phone calls, no social media, no worrying about what you need to purchase next.  Just us taking amazing photos somewhere outside (usually).

4. Let someone else serve you for an hour

Don’t put the pressure on yourself to remember to snap photos during the last month of your pregnancy.  Let someone else do that for you! Photographers LOVE to serve you.  You are what’s important to us.  We want to make you so happy, feel beautiful and love the final product.  Take one thing off your plate and let us create some magic.

 

Did I talk you into it??? I hope so.  If anything, do it for your child.  Do it for your family or your partner or yourself.  Just do it.  You will not regret it, I promise.
